They are Herbert Woods day boats, You can see them moored up on the Potter web cam, the doors open inwards

Perhaps it's you who needs to go to Specsavers

Sorry Gracie, but on this occasion your loyalty doesn't cut it!

Where's the rainy day pictures?

Come on, don't think you can get away with fluffing up your holiday tale by leaving out the bad bits.:default_badday:

:default_biggrin: oh it's coming.....although there are by far fewer pictures than of the sunny days

There are a few bad bits to come I assure you, although I shall have to be slightly careful with how I word some of it :default_smiley-angelic002:

BTW....did you know your boat has a song?

I am well aware of it thank you. Although I am far too young to know who these people are that sang it or to have ever heard it before I bought our boat share

Now I force everyone in the car to tolerate the song endlessly as we travel to Brundall :default_biggrin:

Apparently yes you do Captain Kev, even for me. Now be a jolly decent fellow and please do so nicely so that we can all get it. :default_biggrin:

Well CaptainKev..... someone has brought to my attention that if you focus on what you can see through the window on the door it may look to some a bit off (I will leave it at that). There are of course several other explainations for the more decent minded of us! If that is what you are eluding, then no further explaination is required please.

Wednesday 8th August

I was sat in the sunshine in Richardson's yard enjoying the morning with a coffee. The yard was almost empty with the exception of a few visiting boats. 20180808_084306.thumb.jpg.a08a7ea70b3cba6dd11096e65db25ca9.jpg20180808_084313.thumb.jpg.e6756df31faf2ae41308d7e721d8514f.jpg

Rubbish disposed of and water filled I set off at around 0900 to begin the journey back down the River Ant, via Barton Broad obviously.20180808_091759.thumb.jpg.5f4ef0f9e7580e5afe2e6f48725f6b9d.jpg20180808_093421.thumb.jpg.217d298d18f330bf4212772e2f41c6c4.jpg20180808_093811.thumb.jpg.e5891f424ae5d55a899b6765d5889e8f.jpg20180808_094052.thumb.jpg.79c4bd2041e847b5caeb6ae19e30baed.jpg

The slow journey down the Ant was extremely busy in both directions but enjoyable nonetheless, and as we passed How Hill at around 1015 we stopped off for coffee and breakfast.20180808_102233.thumb.jpg.1b7a9dc6b184801eaecec9581c6d136d.jpg20180808_104326.thumb.jpg.5bba7f84da6e6f9d1572002159150d8b.jpg

Whilst sat with my brew and watching the world go slowly by in the sunshine, I was passed by Chameleon who gave a passing wave and greeting, unfortunately I was caught in a world of my own at the time, so apologies to them for almost missing them completely.

Another couple on their first broads visit were struggling to get off of their mooring without hitting other boas, so I jumped off and went to give some assistance which they were extremely grateful for and they went on their way down the Ant ahead of me.

Once we set off again we passed a very busy Ludham bridge, giving way to a number of boats passing through the bridge before I was able to pass myself.20180808_111655.thumb.jpg.71451d4afa8d1dca2d4e764e0a58842e.jpg20180808_112935.thumb.jpg.676d3a5080465cfa04dc607a716c341b.jpg20180808_114219.thumb.jpg.328d984b922875d62baf79af6b40af84.jpgHeading along the Bure it was busy as expected, Horning was rammed full in all mooring spots but our destination was Salhouse Broad. 20180808_120050.thumb.jpg.7703d5ff68fedde3e7f229c325cfefbf.jpg20180808_122112.thumb.jpg.ed6d67cdc556df88fe45b43611ca0a93.jpg20180808_123516.thumb.jpg.2da925dc5e805b5497ac22c69de32866.jpg20180808_123937.thumb.jpg.1e6738fa42a47b27b8a9afdb3811f18b.jpg20180808_130426.thumb.jpg.5fd11fb89c089661f3fc7e0f41977249.jpgWhen we arrived I was surprised at how quiet it was with plenty of moorings available. Usually in August if we could get in it was on the last available spot, 20180808_133630.thumb.jpg.2dab32db13fc218d3ba042f137ef9aba.jpgso I stern moored up and then set out with the dog to the Fur and Feathers for a quick refreshment break.20180808_135923.thumb.jpg.d7d733256477f8ebf5585bfad5342a7a.jpg20180808_140100.thumb.jpg.fc1581b90e1863b3fed07f6c74cee8bc.jpg20180808_140309.thumb.jpg.d01e9bf4027b30553855d58f6c435d39.jpg

After a drink i had a quick look in the brewery shop before heading back to the boat for a relaxing afternoon in the sunshine. 20180808_163513.thumb.jpg.f94a19f570677b9558b92f6d1472f97e.jpgEveryone was busy doing their own thing so I wrote up Tuesday's blog alone in the gorgeous weather.

Just as I finished writing and was thinking about beginning to set off to my final destination for the day we was hit by another boat. Won't go into it but details were collected and passed on before I untied our boat and set off once more, heading for a night in Wroxham.20180808_184429.thumb.jpg.6c7b5b836d8118f403b936fad682e254.jpg20180808_185133.thumb.jpg.1e248de5723ea7ec3f371cab5d8b2343.jpg

Deliberately arriving late on and planning to leave early in order to avoid the shenanigans that can go on in Wroxham in August on the water it was quiet on the water but moorings were very busy.

Finally getting a space we headed out for a drink in the Hotel Wroxham and the Kings Head 20180808_194442.thumb.jpg.735ada793f97c5bd0af86d19d485d364.jpg20180808_194520.thumb.jpg.77729be7cb70104dcfdf1b08d84ad4c0.jpg20180808_205501.thumb.jpg.561616c30d5e8a67806cafab137cc64e.jpg20180808_205527.thumb.jpg.1dd8a86c89a28d54f4d212108b0b5b01.jpg20180808_205735.thumb.jpg.1fc7b67c6a6ef32d83cf3b76a54ca33a.jpg20180808_205804.thumb.jpg.78d685c706800d1f0ba25466dbdf254f.jpgbefore getting some tea and heading off to bed.20180808_231222.thumb.jpg.02cf40f7745d4f79ff774dd7218f4955.jpg

Great photos as ever JF

A small hint might help with the piano....... I keep thinking Dukes Head but can't recall seeing a piano in there

BTW if anyone is replying to JF can I respectfully suggest not hitting the quote button as all the photos get repeated (good as they are) better to just highlight any relevant text and quote that :default_biggrin:

Thanks Mr Nog.

Sometimes you have to go with your first thought Mr Nog. It is the Dukes Head. The piano is at the end of the long table next to the door leading through to the toilets.

Thursday 9th August

Starting off in Wroxham on a more overcast morning, some may say even raining, 20180809_074220.thumb.jpg.84c999c6911ed44a1c2e12ea524c70d1.jpgI walked the dog and nipped to the shops for some essentials 20180809_075657.thumb.jpg.ccdff7457e6be7c890eee189db555f3d.jpgbefore slowly winding myself through Wroxham, if you was early you could have caught me on the webcam at Barnes yard as I passed, I know someone who had I lie in :default_biggrin:

It was a beautifully quiet early morning on the Bure, 20180809_081130.thumb.jpg.3820514c77515189a775ce938d55c15b.jpgand I made my way along the river20180809_081556.thumb.jpg.a38a25c2d6ab0e693b04d2d317e2100e.jpg20180809_082538.thumb.jpg.60326c942cffc001d06cf4212dd97f88.jpg20180809_083530.thumb.jpg.adb73d3ccdc94df08a06e8657048eae1.jpg20180809_085924.thumb.jpg.4cb1f0e39bff957522bc26013fc1a2bc.jpg20180809_090404.thumb.jpg.b8e87205b14d9230ad32e527689b7f8a.jpg and passing through Horning I was hoping we could have a quick stop for a breakfast sarnie from the cafe,20180809_093120.thumb.jpg.982664e0814ae583717d418b5254431b.jpg it turned out all moorings were still full in the early morning and so I continued on 20180809_094226.thumb.jpg.afd8aafe7edccf326378d34fbfeea0b1.jpg20180809_095942.thumb.jpg.c3681b7d1a8b65992c42dcb3e8f437c5.jpgand eventually turned into Ranworth staithe.

There were 2 moorings available so I quickly grabbed one and sat with a brew watching the comings and goings for a short while. It wasn't long before a boat pulled alongside me called "Penny 4 Em" and I had a good chat with the lady on board, it wasn't until I was leaving however I noticed her NBN pennant flying so if you see this :default_icon_wave:20180809_105335.thumb.jpg.a822632162b21ec68499047a870c2108.jpg

We headed into the Maltsters for a dinnertime beverage and a baguette sarnie before heading off at around 1315 to return darn sarf.

The wind and rain really kicked up along the way past Acle and down to Yarmouth, t20180809_134404.thumb.jpg.232f5bc5285f6b3a067b3a731e5b9d57.jpghe tides were ideal for travelling down the Bure at almost tickover 20180809_140440.thumb.jpg.8409a0a01dc2d4fc88c080574c130276.jpg20180809_153305.thumb.jpg.dffef05a413eee31dbc63cab4a432bc0.jpgand then along Breydon I was able to have a little play along the crossing before sensibility returned for the journey down the Waveney.20180809_170959.thumb.jpg.d26a42630c92a352e03e6e7d8cbd45cb.jpg20180809_172600.thumb.jpg.c2067ecb9c9f9f02c312d1b96f53e97f.jpg

Unable to get a spot at St Olaves I continued on finally stopping at Somerleyton at around 1905 (just shy of 6 hours) and heading to the pub for a few beers, some games in the pub and then a return to the boat for something to eat and off to bed.20180809_223648.thumb.jpg.160c22901bee3294b89f98bcb04ab389.jpg

And there's your rainy (although you can't see it) grey pictures Wyndham :default_biggrin:

Friday 10th August

A quick sign off day today.

Starting with a beautiful steady morning at Somerleyton,20180810_091615.thumb.jpg.465a317d6262a0f7407466123f9e3c1b.jpg I eventually set off for a slow cruise back up the Waveney and Yare back to Brundall to refuel and pump out the boat before cleaning her up and heading home.20180810_091334.thumb.jpg.3d48736025dea66a030038a6d56ea70f.jpg20180810_103722.thumb.jpg.35f97ecd969c36ef532d48c153598007.jpg20180810_105731.thumb.jpg.5b02cba297c7f4d74b42f9bbb6943f3d.jpg20180810_110746.thumb.jpg.542980f003ce0ac3e76a36a396446cb5.jpg20180810_113358.thumb.jpg.02e1d8ffc23ccb0f939953372605cab4.jpg

It started out warm and sunny before the wind and rain kicked in, later the rain really came as I was cleaning the boat.20180810_120825.thumb.jpg.91ac3bab0ab842bb26442f079ada1295.jpg20180810_140545.thumb.jpg.6713e6cff00365b3f8b95cc3da5191c4.jpg

Despite the unwanted events it's been a fabulous holiday once again and it will seem like forever before I am back in October (hopefully sooner).20180810_143943.thumb.jpg.b667f8aaf4acec69593adbc0d3b2e63c.jpg

Thanks for reading everyone, happy cruising.

I left a CD with several different versions on board MS when I was an owner - suppose that's long gone.

There are some cd's in the drawer webntweb but I haven't actually looked at them, so it may still be on board.

If I remember next time I am there I shall have a good look and see

Enjoyed reading your tale and seeing all your photos Jay. Hope you had a good journey home. It was certainly very welcome to get the rain this week although it might not have been quite as welcome for any holidaymakers after all the hot sunny weather of late.
