...well I've rejected quite a few. I'm still struggling to think of a pub which would have the temerity to serve Humpty Dumpty next to Greene King!

I want to get this right now though. Mrs Nog will have finished her 15 hour stint down t' pit shortly so we'll be on the case!!!

What hasn't? What are you blathering on about? Lusting? I'm going to take the 5th and speak to Grace.... :default_eusa_naughty:

Blathering is defined as "talking long windedly and making no sense" Mrs Nog. 9 words doesn't count as long winded and I make perfect sense.

You clearly tried to insult me and I refuse to be insulted. You can say what you like Mrs Nog, I know you love me and I really don't care if you................oh s**t I just noticed those last 3 words :default_hiding:

Am I blathering now? :default_icon_kiss:

Monday 5th November

The day at Cantley started out overcast, but soon began to brighten up.

20181105_081023.thumb.jpg.9cd9d15e606674ae1e42a3fd69c41f61.jpg20181105_085243.thumb.jpg.c9054a8aabb3b047c492d10c71ba6c32.jpg I had the usual morning coffee before venturing out with the mini beast to find that the river had overlooked the moorings overnight when I stepped off of the boat into a deep puddle of water on the footpath. With the tide still on it's gentle inland route I was aware that leaving the moorings soon would be a good decision.20181105_090304.thumb.jpg.e3a741eb6b96e190b6daddd23ec56c95.jpg

Once the dog had been walked and I had had a quick check in on the forum I began the task of leaving the flooded mooring, whilst a breeze tried to hold me against the bank.

Once the lines were removed I finally left the Cantley moorings and headed back up The Yare towards Norwich, with an unknown destination once again.20181105_092102.thumb.jpg.3e9c00cd0dcbeb3dcd1b7c5a1d66f54d.jpg20181105_093032.thumb.jpg.2d8a13f47d212b647e04ddee48327b5f.jpg20181105_093330.thumb.jpg.79a82487af04559e812e8bb9af2a4c20.jpg20181105_093350.thumb.jpg.f7026e192610537e31df963c66a3c920.jpg20181105_100007.thumb.jpg.5282c6071cdce575220f0c4ef20e49b1.jpg20181105_100501.thumb.jpg.a768be63c8adfaebd51656fee6698e08.jpg20181105_100523.thumb.jpg.6539c99122a7a99948ab1209b221bc1d.jpg

With very little river traffic I moved along The river all the way through Brundall, past the Surlingham Ferry and Brammerton before deciding to try and get into the Commissioners Cut moorings.20181105_101921.thumb.jpg.9a50e4d3fafe9b97499808e3a2b38ab6.jpg20181105_102821.thumb.jpg.a85d3f8eaf846adfd41801f59c04c393.jpg20181105_103619.thumb.jpg.b3d524ab297b6860bac08f39b93a9fea.jpg20181105_104337.thumb.jpg.a901475f20985ecf8ed09b0e07c39bcc.jpg20181105_104539.thumb.jpg.6ce520ebcee6f40fcc8ecc4b112cc052.jpg20181105_104804.thumb.jpg.8766d8b69ac1160503255488faecdd9d.jpg20181105_104903.thumb.jpg.548f97e1cb66580913fdb352e4f8507d.jpg20181105_105349.thumb.jpg.ba1e0905cf8cbfd2956cf31c2d24d3fc.jpg20181105_105404.thumb.jpg.6195d62dbadb764d9da53047b5db2e38.jpg20181105_105407.thumb.jpg.99f05d0659fa0c8d262ac2c2520007df.jpg20181105_111547.thumb.jpg.e3349727ee92d2029a5580ac8132344d.jpg

I was somewhat surprised to find only 2 small boats moored up when I arrived nd knowing I wasn't planning on stopping I made use of the end, curved mooring spot so as not to get stuck in the sun by potential overnighters.20181105_115100.thumb.jpg.e44b9a189c490fd1a6604a9d5acc2c78.jpg

Once all moored up it as just beer 12 and so I headed into Thorpe St Andrew to walk the dog along the river and visit a few of the bars in the village.20181105_115437.thumb.jpg.b6a05837d4f5a83351e3f8ec7da61d1c.jpg

I happened to stay a little longer than intended, and by the time I returned to the boat it was after 1530. I once again set about leaving the mooring and retraced my journey back to Brammerton20181105_153842.thumb.jpg.ee31ec3674cd62227a6461763da878b1.jpg20181105_154059.thumb.jpg.cf4ece49f61bc1a976d947a0ccd1a957.jpg20181105_155229.thumb.jpg.33c1fe3d1060cc698884615eafa5ffd1.jpg20181105_155801.thumb.jpg.f2e5bbefa7d37c537ac43c0e19a6ab34.jpg20181105_160418.thumb.jpg.eadebfaf374745d78973073afc699aeb.jpg

And moored up for the final time today before settling down for an evening aboard.20181105_164109.thumb.jpg.dde429a4821a925c0023212ebeded70c.jpg

Evening Jay. Another lovely day afloat for you then. Are the water levels generally still high? There was 6 foot showing under the bridge at PH this morning. And HW seemed to have some boats double moored on the main river. I don’t know if that was associated with the water levels or just because their yard is full now. Have you seen any hire boats still out this week?

When we passed the Comissioner’s Cut on our way to and fro to an overnight stop in Norwich last month we noticed someone had put up a tent on the western bank of the Cut. What’s that about? Actually, we weren’t certain that it was the same tent as we were leaving the following day.

Morning Jean

It was a lovely day yes thank you, the water levels have been high all holiday really as far as I have noticed. Topping the bank at Cantley and earlier in the holiday Acle and Potter Heigham were the same.

I have only seen a handful all the while I have been down South, obviously up North there were a few more last week, but pleasantly quiet everywhere really. I do love the so called off season of November - Easter.

A cool dry morning here today at Brammerton, starting to brighten up but I've run out of milk for my coffee, and so I am on instant hot chocolate at the minute.

Oh the troubles I'm facing right now :default_biggrin:

Have a great day

I can't seem to recall a tent Helen, although I may be wrong. The boat pictured on the left of the cut however was marked up with hazard warnings and notices so I'm not sure what is going on there, there was a man walking around at the time so didn't want to go snooping at the boat in case it was his, or he had something to do with it :default_biggrin:
