How good/bad is the DAB signal on the broads? I'm thinking of installing a new wireless on board, probably a car one.

Don't mount it on a board (unless its a portable one) put it on the boat it might work better. Especially a  car one it need some electrickery you know.

We have a DAB portable radio on board works everywhere the boat goes.

Tesco's cheapest stereo model £25 and the batteries last for weeks, its our second one, the first didn't like boiling water pouring over it. Don't ask.

Before that a rather expensive model that ate batteries, they only lasted about 20 hours.

Don’t have one, we sold house in UK when we left have rented for the past 16 years.

Funnily enough returning to the UK as we plan to do we can’t get a mortgage as we have zero credit history in UK. So we rent for a while until credit is good then off we go.

We hope lol

MM - We have recently installed a new 'Car Type' DAB / CDplayer onboard 'B.A' fully up to date with the connectivity thing too. (See the 'B.A' TLC thread)  Robin is the research specialist behind this latest upgrade.  Just gotta sort out the aerial and power booster which hopefully with be completed during our next maintenance visit

Well that’s the thing ain’t it?

Robin researchers and I generally get the job of fitting (with assistance)

items are only fitted on the understanding I can operate them - which is a world away from understanding them

The Dab is working fine to date, it can even make / receive phone calls - I don’t know how to use that facility and don’t want to either
