Car Talk

I find this forum very friendly and appreciate the mix of on and off topic subjects that it covers. If something doesn't interest me I simply ignore it. If you find that difficult then certain other forums exist which don't allow off topic comment at all, perhaps you would be happier on one of those.

Either way posting a comment deliberately intended to promote discord does you no credit.

Proper interesting thread is this one.  Particularly the discussion about electric power consumption / supply for homes / cars (Boats?)

Why has no one mentioned super conductivity ?  If the scientists could crack that one - we would all be catered for.  Apparently the Boffins have got it working but at ridiculously low temperatures  Why isn't a government of the world investing heavily into cracking the one?  The power savings and rewards would be huge

WHERE do I find a forum that places a greater emphasis on Broadland matters. Broads, rivers, boats, local historians, history, our destiny and how we are able to shape our future.

We seem to my mind lost our way.

Andrew

Let me help you out with this one, whatever your name is. :default_biggrin:

I understand fully the point you are making, and I agree, however there are a large section of people who when they see a subject "Car Talk" just have to join in. Strange as it may seem some people love to talk cars. I'd wager you could visit any forum, on any specialised subject you like and if a similar topic were to get started it would take off. How seemingly perfectly normal people can get so engrossed and obsessed with cars is beyond me, but they do, in their numbers, so maybe it is me and you who need to keep our heads down and let them enjoy their passion.

We on the other hand can spend our hard earned on luxuries instead of wasting it on tyres that will stop us 2 yds sooner if travelling at 60 mph on a loose gravel road or have a slightly lower noise level when cruising at 20 mph

Beer Wusser?  :default_drinks:( after we've parked up for the night obviously)

It was not a comment deliberately intended to promote discord. It is my opinion. A discussion point. I am not seeking your credit or opinion and by your tone neither do I welcome it. All I ask is for consideration for that which I consider important and worthy of further deliberation with the forums interest paramount.

The thread has been posted in The Broadscot Lounge, an area of the Forum for 'non boat/Broads related topics' so personally, I don't see an issue with it.

Sorry . . . . . .  just saying.

So you are saying that with a thread like "Car Talk" you are more than happy that I can post a question of possibly washing cotton fabrics with woollens and on what temperature and spin RPM, you would be happy with that?:default_icon_rolleyes:

No problem washing mixed fabrics together at all KK, though always use the lowest temperature recommended for your different items, on this occasion i would expect that to be woollens. I have a Panasonic washing machine which has a mixed fibres setting, which is very useful. It was quite expensive but i can wholeheartedly recommend them. I wouldn't mix colours though, always keep whites in one wash, reds andpinks in another and a third for dark colours.

And don't tumble dry the woollens.

Anything else we can help with?

I don't want to know how the washing machine works, I have enough to do already so please rethink your choice of new topic.

Thanks in advance.

Remember having a convo with my ex brother-in-law. Your sister brought this super doper washing machine with 10 settings yet everytime I look its always on the same setting!

only ten? our Panasonic has 27, plus three extra "user defined programmes" plus the ability to extend the rise, add a prewash, increase or decrease the spin speed, non spin for easy iron .....

but your right, every time I look at it then it is always on the same setting!

Anyway, enough of this frivolity and these desparate attempts to derail this thread, lets get back on topic with a still from a vlog I'm doing for mbclub covering the brake change. Have to say the brembos suit this car, much better response and feel from the brakes then the old mb kit gave.

Washing Machines? - Pah

Hoovers, now there's a topic worth debating.  I use the Henry type for my daily use at work (Other types are available)  However even they are not bullet proof.  Had to buy a new one recently as the last one got married,

It stopped sucking! :default_coat:

If that’s what you want to post, crack on.  If it is of interest to me, I’ll read it but if it isn’t (and frankly talking about washing and washing machines isn’t), I won’t.

I think whether I do or not comes under the banner of choice.  I can’t stand Coronation Street, Eastenders and the other cr*ppy soaps on tv, so I don’t watch them.

Simples.
