Over Wide Load

Recommended Posts

This came in the opposite direction to me yesterday around  Beccles. I thought at the time it was a bit wide for these roads, only for it t be confirmed as it had been pulled over into a lay-by near Loddon.

Enough money to buy the kit to do the job but obviously not enough brain cells to carry it out safely and within the law.

No excuse really is there

Pay the money to use a properly registered professional transport company and fannies your Auntie.

Never use a haulier who doesn’t have a CPC certificate. And can show it to you, preferably an international CPC .

Unbelievable they didn’t have correct escorts flags, mirrors and routing. Very poor show and total amateurs IMO.

When my brother and myself ran our transport company in the 80s and early 90s this sort of thing would have been a finisher reputation wise. What’s happened to the business it never used to be like this

This appears to be the company that was hauling the red catamaran and they appear to be a very professional set-up:

Errrrrrrrrrrrr, not true.

Go to the centre of Birmingham, draw one line from there due east, and another due south,  and in that south eastern quarter lives 65% of the population of Britain.

And that IS  a FACT.

They seem to be from just outside Lichfield..... So not up North.

In fact south of some of Norfolk.

My investigative talents came up with Staffordshire! That's North of Kings Lynn, isn't it?

Apparently the load's width in itself was safe & exactly spot on as declared but apparently an extra mirror and rear facing camera was needed.

It's south of King's Lynn, what with it being in the Midlands....

The definition of North is not south not some arbitrary line drawn for convenience. I said a while ago doesn’t anyone do Irony. Seems to be a habit for some. Ever heard of Watford Gap? Up north is used as a figure of speech used as an humorous general descriptor to reference a perceived ( oop  north ) perception of superiority from those residing not in the north ( daaan saaaaf) not a geographic reference.

By way of my own little piece of pedantry I would personally describe anywhere north of Watford as north as that seems to be historically where the attitude stops Lol.

Im sure some people in St Ives would describe Birmingham as North as of course it is. Anyway it gave me a chuckle this morning well done .

According to a long held Norfolk tradition anything North of Sutton Bridge is up North, anything South of the Vauxhall Bridge is down South.

Sometimes I tell people I am going to the far east when they ask where I’m off to. Well, it’s East Anglia and Potter’s quite far over to the east isn’t it?

Living on the South coast, you’re all northerners to me!!!

Excellent you all saw the humour.  The main Irony John is I live in Switzerland so you’re all Northern monkeys to me.

Currently blowing a hoolie blizzard outside. We ran out of oil yesterday and we are using log fire until oil man comes. Off to get more logs in a few minutes.

See you all soon, Drascom detector is being sourced prior to operation ramming speed.

Do you have coloured flappy things on ? I suspect so !

Based on the valid premise that the Broads is the the very centre of the universe then anywhere North of that is up North, obvious really. Indeed anyone living outside that halcyon area is by Norfolk standards a foreigner, even those of us from Suffolk, despite Albion and Ardea being built besides Oulton Broad and Broadside being brewed in Southwold!

Love it... Always felt that Norfolk is our second home, hopefully our first home soon.

Our middle one lives in Norwich after studying at UEA. We turned up to his graduation on the boat and had a ball.
