Great place to visit,not keen on going up to the top.Not good with heights, plus COPD can give me a problem.

When our boys were young we used to offer an ice cream as an incentive to wave at us from the tower when moored on the Staithe ,gave us 30mins of peace

Just beat me to that. We went up a few times in the 70s, as you say no railings and a sloping roof. Took my wife five years to get up the two ladders

Been there done that twice fantastic view but an exhausting climb, if I can't do it any more I know I'm Getting Old or there is no Space to moor the boat which is the more likely eventuality  :default_biggrin:

When I've got people on the boat that haven't been on the Broads before or for a while it's good  to take them up the tower. It's always a highlight of the holiday and works up a thirst ready to go in the pub afterwards.
