When Is A She Not A She?

What would our forefathers make of it all.   A vessel of any kind has always been a 'she' and always will.   Just a fad a bit like veganism.        Can you imagine folk of any persuasion in the WW2 worrying about this,   staying alive and even finding a meal for the family was uppermost.   God help future generations be afraid to open your mouth at all.

Well said and this sort of nonsense causes wider problems. Just like the story of the boy who cried wolf, there are of course some things that do need to be addressed in society and these will get lost in the noise of the 'offended by everything' movements.

The 'snowflake generation', offended by everything and anything, where has all this nonsense come from?

Yep, next we'll have people worried about an area being referred to as a National Park, even though it cannot actually be one! :default_eusa_naughty::default_rofl::default_gbxhmm:

“A ship is called a she because there is always a great deal of bustle around her; there is usually a gang of men about; she has a waist and stays; it takes a lot of paint to keep her good-looking; it is not the initial expense that breaks you, it is the upkeep; she can be all decked out; it takes an experienced man to handle her correctly; and without a man at the helm, she is absolutely uncontrollable. She shows her topsides, hides her bottom and, when coming into port, always heads for the buoys.”

I sincerely hope that you are right however, where JP is concerned, complacency is his best friend. That we are where we are today is down to the bloke continually weaseling away until he gets what he wants, witness the BNP marketing scam. Mock if you wish but personally I just don't trust the bloke.
