beccles bridge

hi all, we are on the broads in two weeks :grin: planing our trip and wanted some info on beccles bridge. what clearance is their at the bridge at high tide? we want to try and get down to the locks at gelsdon. were on suncharm from rickos so quite low in the water.

Been through Beccles Old bridge numerous times as the Locks is one of my favourites too!! cheersbar

Clearance at average high tide is only about 6 foot eight inches but the rise and fall of the tide is around 2 feet so you should have a very good chance 2 or 3 hours before or after high tide.

I doubt if Suncharm needs more than 7 feet so unless it rains cats and dogs you should be OK.

This site is very good for tide tables and is approved by the management.

hi members can i just put this forward ,there is so much debate about not getting under pottter heigham /wroxham bridges hirers are losing out on some wonderful parts of the broads .my point is why do the boatyards build boats that restrict the hirer ? regards ken
