LOCAL NOTICE TO MARINERS

LOWESTOFT OUTER HARBOUR – SSE PONTOON INSTALLATION –
WAVENEY DOCK

Mariners and Port Users are advised that a new pontoon will be installed by SSE at the
South side of Waveney Dock, adjacent to berth No.2.
The new pontoon will be mobilised from Lowestoft Haven Marina hoist dock and towed
to the Waveney dock and positioned by the vessel ‘Jumbo’.
At both Lowestoft Haven Marina and SSE site, works will involve crane operations –
lifting heavy structures and works from a suspended basket.
Towing of the pontoons are scheduled for the 26th November and installation of the
pontoon is liking to take around 3 days wind/weather permitting. The works are subject
to favourable weather conditions and timings may vary.
During the works, vessels are requested to transit Waveney Dock at slow speed and
not pass too close the works area to minimise affects of vessel wash.
Please contact Lowestoft Port Control, VHF Ch 14, Tel. 01502 572286, if additional
information is required.
