socrates
Anyone had any experience of using a Sterling Pro Charge Ultra 12v 30Amp? We are considering fitting one, but not sure of how effective one would be with 3 domestic and 1 starter battery. The other option is to go with a combined inverter/charger. annv
Hi Haven't used a ultra but,4 stage current control doesn't get any better and with 330 ?? battery amps you are on the lower limitet with only a 30 amp charger 60 amp would be better for battery longevity and faster charging, BUT!! all the Sterling products i have used over the years have done what it says on the tin they're reliable with the added advantage that if you have a issue if you take to their works before lunch and they will repair/change it while you wait. where as i have found Volspec very difficult to get repaired unless you send it to Holland .John
Vaughan
If you have three domestic batteries and are also thinking of an inverter (which may need its own supply batteries, depending on the intended use, you will need a charger of at least 40 amps at 12 volts, preferably with a three - output supply. That is unless you are confident that your engine battery and its separate circuit do not need a charge from shore power, in which case two outputs, but still 40 amps capacity.
