Graham and I discovered computer ping pong at Crewe station sometime in the late 1970s, and space invaders not much later. Somehow I think Jay might have missed those delights.

I once spent a very enjoyable evening sitting at one of those table space invader games in a squash club bar feeding 10p pieces to the old chap getting well and truly ratted and manically shooting aliens. It cost me £5 in change and I'm sure I bought more rounds than he did but I got to spend several hours in the company of Spike Milligan. Worth every penny!

Well I quite liked the Swallows and Amazons film, though I admit I know pretty much zero about the books.

I think part of the charm is that I view the Lake District a little bit like many on here view the Broads - somewhere special that I manage to get to only once or twice a year - and so it's always nice to see it in film or photos.

The first Arcade Video Game I encountered was The 1975 Boot Hill it was a variant of the Gun Fight, I was working for an amusement company in Leeds at the time. The price of the video game was more than a standard Ford Escort at the time. 

Ping or Pong came next or the more popular Super Break Out were produced and were common in most pubs, these black & white monitor games, including the later Space Invaders had coloured overlays under the glasses to provide some colour to the games.
