One of our worst nights on the boat   Gale force winds and torrential rain saw a sleepless night as we got buffered around. You were better off at Sutton.

We were moored up in the boatyard staithe so gaily well insulated , haven’t travelled far today either moored up in Neatishead dyke , again well shielded

Back home after a relaxing four nights afloat , I travelled up early Friday so as to collect a dingy and outboard we had purchased (thank you Ray ) and also to pop into Stalham staithe to get the bill for our engines services which we used Marine Transmissions to carry out for the first time  , and speaking as I find , they were very reasonable and thorough and they also cleaned them extremely well .

Gently motored up to Sutton where Katie would be joining me later after her hospital shift , she duly arrived at 21:30 much in need of a glass of Merlot , the next three evenings we didn’t travel far at all flitting between Neatishead and Gayes staithe as we simply wanted to hanker down from the wind or relax , which we certainly did.

Today the sun actually shone , gave me a chance to shampoo Cerise Lady before a leisurely pootle via Wayford bridge to the wet shed , clean up and head home , whilst we were enjoying a coffee before departing the wet sheds frequent visiting kingfisher alighted on our bow rails for five or so minutes .

Snook up last night for a few days , Katie is loving the peace at home whilst I’m afloat !!

Not much space left for me at Sutton Staithe last night !!

Neatishead only three other boats when I arrived this morning , full now (15:00hrs)

Sadly bridge height at Ludham too low so we have moored for the evening at Neatishead staithe , on the leccy.

Spit of rain but not too bad , but windy .

Up bright and early this morning at 07:00 all snuggled due to the radiators, chilly outside 8degree but very windy , wind due to ease at midday so will stay sheltered till then , just waiting for the croissants to bake , Katie is an excellent sous chef !!

Water levels at Ludham bridge still too high?  These high water levels seem to becoming the norm - I hope not.

Last year we had a 6 week period where the levels were too high .

And yes , they’ve departed now , with a friendly wave , what a beautiful boat !!!!

A gentle cruise up the Ant to Sutton , on the green and leccy , dinner this evening in the Hotel , MM old boat Nyx moored here too , resplendent with their parrot .

Had an excellent meal in The Sutton Staithe Hotel , far surpassed the last few meals we have had there (it’s changed hands) , only gripe is they have started using square plates and putting chips in a basket , peas and coleslaw in little buckets , why can’t they just use a good old fashioned round plate for the lot !!

Oh , and sachets of Heinz mustard , thankfully I had some Colman’s on the boat  so grabbed that .

Back home now , woke up early and was extremely gusty , glad I had used springs .

Eagerly awaiting end of lockdown part 2 already !!!!!
