Booked a lock today (Mutford Lock Oulton Broad) and was told that the Oulton Broad rail bridge is also now unable to be opened for the foreseeable future.  I fit so it's not a problem and it doesn't really affect the majority on here, but it is just another example of the poor condition of the rail bridges in the area currently.

Somehow I can't see finance being available to repair any of them for a very long time.

Survey work due soon. With the huge investment in signalling new level crossings and even lighting at stations they cannot neglect the bridges. BA report progress at their meetings on a regular basis now  https://www.networkrail.co.uk/running-the-railway/our-routes/anglia/swing-bridge-renewals/#:~:text=We're renewing some of,safe state after each opening.

We were at OBYS Saturday noon to Monday noon and Mutford rail was flying 2 red flags (can't open) most of the time.

Sonerleyton was working when we passed at circa 13:15 yesterday.
