From Coltishall - Hot Hot Hot?!

Hi

I’m looking for some ideas of where would be a good spot from Coltishall? We’re in a 42 foot Voyager from Richardson’s. 3 teenage boys and a dog.

So far we’ve stayed at Ludham bridge, Salhouse Broad and tonight Coltishall.

Boys really want to be in the water! We’ve rented a SUP first thing tomorrow (7-9am!) but apart from that all kayaks and SUPs are booked out everywhere! Kicking myself that we didn’t bring an inflatable.

We’re planning to head off after breakfast and would really appreciate some tips of where to go as the temperature rises! 33C on Friday! Boat to go back Monday.

Bridge broad is where I learnt to paddle board. Didn’t fall in but can vouch for the others who did, should be plenty warm enough, just avoid anyone fishing!

You can try the Staithe or lock end. Lock is usally quiet but idk if you can turn 42ft boat there there's also outside the pubs. Staithe and outside the pubs can get busy so if you want to moor there then get in there quick

We've had a 42' at the lock, and Horstesd Mill is very pleasant and just a short walk from the lock.

(Disclaimer to say please don't try and get a boat to the mill pond!)

We've turned Lightning (43ft) a few times below the lock. Would be a bit tricky if somebody was moored in the turning point though.

Turned a Connoisseur 45 outside the lock this morning, reckon you could turn one of Brinks 48 footers now with care.
