That's the greaser for the stern gland. You give that a turn clockwise every once in a while to inject a little more grease into the gland.

Thanks for your help, what grease? and how do I fill it up please, I,m feel a total cluts here

The base of the greaser is fixed to the bearer and the actual tube uncrews from the base. Then you have to unwind the greaser all the way to fill up again, can be a bit messy if you are not carefull. Best to wear some disposable gloves and then you can just use your fingers!

We just used to use standard grease without any problems but you can get waterproof grease as well.
