Meg
Hi fellow boaters. Just an apology to the two or three boats I met as I left Wroxham. I had a row boat on my starboard side' the sun blinding me and my hat below. decks. My boat had had a steering leak fixed which I didn't realise until I got the email. So instead of my usually a bit slack steerage, suddenly it is spot on and I hadn't found my mid point, I had taken the helm from my friend who dashed off hat hunting. So thanks for the shouted comments and wild waves! I don't blame you one little bit. I promise to do better next time. Meanwhile no one hit or swamped, the crew lectured on sunhat positions and explanations to friends about boating language. Happy days ,good job I only have 3 friends with new rules. 1
YnysMon
If we haven’t already ‘been there, done it’ I’m sure it’s only a matter of time! (Just as you think you’ve got the hang of this boating malarkey.)
ZimbiIV
The most important safety equipment be it boat or car is, the nut behind the wheel. That nut is responsible for all safe practices on a moving vessel! paul 1 1
YnysMon
Indeed, but no nut is infallible (though practise does help).
ranworthbreeze
Sadly we all make mistakes at times but with experience we tend to make good our mistakes. When we were younger we would jump off the boat these days it is step off only and always one hand for self and the other for the boat. tim
Last year I left a mooring leaving Mandy still on the bank! 'Honest guv' it was a mistake, she still brings it up in conversation and asks if a did it on purpose! 1 1
