Guest Posted September 25, 2020 Posted September 25, 2020 So we are moored at and getting battered by wind and waves at Malthouse Broad, a hire boat which was moored stern on had one of the mooring posts snap off in the very strong wind, they decided to try and right the vessel using the engine forgetting that the other post was still attached "snap" went the other post. So now on the front moorings there is rather a large gap in the remaining posts...should be fun tomorrow 🙃 I have left a message on the BA answer machine to inform them, which I did last week incidentally and they promptly replaced the damaged hose pipe. JennyMorgan Posted September 25, 2020 Posted September 25, 2020 Many boaters unfortunately tie their ropes to the top of the post rather than the bottom, doing that doesn't help. 1 Quote
Turnoar Posted September 25, 2020 Posted September 25, 2020 It is very windy for September, lots of fence panels out! Something cosy about being on a boat in these conditions though. Lots of powers cuts where I am today, not a problem on a boat... Quote
grendel Posted September 25, 2020 Posted September 25, 2020 yes we have had 4 that took out all of canterbbury so far this week Quote
Upcycler Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 Noticed on the HW webcam today on the Lathams side of the bridge, a boat looked as if one of the ropes had broken free and the bridge(the larger air draft of the two) was stopping it from going underneath. Quote

RealWindmill Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 Yes, another pet hate. Water filler hoses left dangling in the dyke water. Basic hygiene. 2 Quote

JennyMorgan Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 It's when the dog is on one of those useless extending lead things and the owners stand there and watch their beloveds peeing on mooring ropes and more especially on water hoses that I seriously question their right to own a dog. 3 Quote
