Spoke at length with one of the nurses. So continue with pain killers, and try to see the GP tomorrow. That may be difficult, as they dont seem to see anyone. And Have a phone consultation Tuesday. If it doesn't  improve then perhaps A&E.Not in so much pain at present. Perhaps pain killers are working. My temp is normal and oxygen stats are good.

That’s good to hear Ian, that pain killers are working, on the scene of an accident today when I overhead about the casualty being in pain I felt completely and totally and utterly useless, wholly in the hands of others yet to arrive. How much better I’d have felt if I had gone into the medical profession and could have performed a bit of road side magic, people who can work on humans and animals have my uppermost respect, they can’t and rarely get it wrong, you have a second chance to rebuild a boat if it sinks first time! Keep your spirits up, if pma has anything to do with it you’ll sail through!

I know it's a little while away but, make sure you have a party (sort of) on New Years Eve Ian, then metaphorically kick out 2020, which has been a misery for you and frankly, just about everyone else on the planet. Then start afresh with a New Year. It really does feel like you're cleansing the worry, hurt and fears from your body.

Guys phoned this afternoon. One of the surgeons spoke with me.Firstly how I was getting on.I told him that I've had some pain since the weekend and back on pain killers. Also unrelated toothache, which is also causing me pain.He told me that as far as the operation  is concerned, to expect pain for up to four to six weeks after the operation. He told me the object  removed was Cancerous, but it was small and no longer  causing a problem .I will see Doctors at the Oncology department  at Queen Elizabeth hospital Woolwich on 9 December.Theres still the Matter of my Tooth, hopefully get some antibiotics, then have it taken out.The rash close to my wound I,think is eczema. There may be some other problems. Pleased of course the cancer  has been removed. So as I said ,few other problems, but so pleased with care I've received. Slow but sure I'm getting there. Will do what ever they tell me to do.

Ian.

Keep on going Ian. Good news about the main problem. Tooth problems are a complete pain (literally, I had problems with my teeth as a child that caused a lot of pain) but hopefully if you can get that sorted it should something you don’t have to worry about.

For many people, they dont like talking about the C word, and I'm not talking about Christmas. But Cancer. When I found out I had a shadow on my lung,of course  I was worried and concerned. Its something I had to face.Which I did. When I heard it was Cancer,it was no surprise, pleased  to say the least its removed.Still not completely out of the woods, but getting there.

Please please, if you dont feel right unwell get it checked  out.Hospitals are open not only for Covad, but for other serious  health  issues. After all I've been to seven hospitals and four Ambulances. Thanks to all those caring for me.

Thanks to, all members thinking  of me over the last few months.I would  like to buy you all a drink, but not sure I've enough money to do so!.

Ian.

Ian, if its any consolation my mother in law had a major cancer operation back in 2011, and now 9 years later is still getting the all clear on the annual follow ups, she was lucky enough to be treated by the Marsden and during her operation they called in surgical experts from adjacent specialist hospitals to perform some of the trickier surgery as some of the growths were in very tricky to get to spots. all the best for your journey to recovery.

There is no doubt that our health service really do step up to the mark for serious illness and emergencies. But this pandemic has certainly put them in a bad place for the more routine referals. Hopefully we may be on the cusp of a breakthrough with covid that will allow them to to start making inroads into the less serious, more routine ailments that nevertheless do have a bearing on quality of life.

After such a worrying time you must be mightily relieved to know that even it was Cancer it's been zapped. At one time  recovery from that vile disease was rare but now it's becoming the norm. I had my brush with it in 2005 and I have never forgotten the anxiety felt when waiting the results of a biopsy.  I'm sure I  would not have felt nearly so bad if I'd had  the courage to be as upbeat as you seem to have been.  I'm so relieved for you that  the news was so positive and I hope you manage to loose the toothache soon too!
