Can't help with locations but it's a nice Mk 1 SD1 in pic 2 - bet the headlining was sagging already though.

No 1 might be Chumley and Hawkes in Horning and No 2 might be the Broadsedge Chalet Park in Stalham.

It was only a 2300S auto, but yeah you’ve got to love an SD1. Was replaced with a Montego 😩

When the horse trainer Henry Cecil lost his driving licence back in the early eighties I was fortunate enough to acquire his Rover SDI , it was unusual as it was full Vanden Plas spec but with a 3.9V8 as opposed to 3.5 , plus extras like a small fridge in the back as well as fold down wooden tables , VEG 916X was her reg , kept her for three years never let me down .

I ran a succession of SD1 s back when they were looked on as thirsty old bangers - most fun was a 3.5 Vitesse but 10-12 mpg meant it didn't last long, nicest and longest lived was an ex plod 2.6VdP. There used to be a tuning emporium out towards Norwich Airport that specialised in the engines and discarded the carcasses 'out the back' that was a happy hunting ground for useful bits 😂

I bought an SD1 just for the V8 engine, which I transferred to my TR7. Promised myself I would hunt it down one day; it went north and hasn't been taxed for years.

Sounds like RPI at Horsford for tuning. All the car graveyards seemed to be out that way! Handy if you own a TVR or an old Range Rover.

I had a  white 3500  Rover SD1 back in the 70s.  Reg. PLE12R.One day I got a call to tell me my mother had been involved in a road accident and could   I go and collect her from Barnet General casualty dept. From her Trolley she could see the entrance into the car park and remarked to the Constable taking her witnes statement that she had just seen me arrrive. When  i got to the door he was standing waiting for me and having just watched me park the Rover in a fairly tight space  he commented that if I could spare the time there were a few  officers down at the station that could do with me showing them how to park a Rover as they couldn't seem to cope with the poor rear vision.

Yeah they sure were. The good old scrapyards are very different businesses these days, doing everything on eBay.

I spent far too much time in my twenties up at Hainford Hall (closed some while ago) finding bits for mine and friends' cars.

RPI is very much still there, though, they're still a Rover V8 specialist and do various restoration projects.

Four lane carriage way with grass holding area between the two sets of lanes, anyway, this muppet tried to reach the central holding area but stopped short leaving the rear doors and tailgate of an SD1 in front of me which I slammed in to at 70mph. Shortened my Fiesta mk1 by almost 3ft and put me in hospital, he was charged with careless driving.

So back to the photos, we have the following:

1: Chumley & Hawke or JB Boats Horning. Is that the same yard? I know the name Chumley & Hawke but they're before my time.

2: Broadsedge Chalet Park in Stalham?

3: I wondered if this was one of the properties nestled away in the Grebe Island area at Horning?

4: I'll check Google, but yes South Walsham Broad seems possible.

Just one definite identification which is Morlands (photo no.3) Brimbelow Road Wroxham. The plot is still called Morlands but the property either rebuilt or replaced by a new build. Link http://www.summercraftboats.co.uk/holiday-cottage-guide/morlands/

Agree 1 is Horning either Chumley & Hawk or possibly Turners. 

2. Typical late 60s/70s lodge found all over but for some reason I keep going back to St. Olaves.

Having been to the one in Oulton Broad many years back, I don't think the scenery looks right.

I think Ray and Celia used to live in the large house "up the drive" from the shop / main quay? I'm going from memory as I was only a child then....

They certainly did when my parents moored their boat at Bondons(96-13ish). I forget when exactly Ray passed but Celia was still about early last year as my Mother spoke to her regarding a mooring for their new boat- no room unfortunatly.
