JanetAnne
This is Freedom, an ex Herbert Woods Gay Lady and in need of a new home. She needs some work, not a lot and far less than many projects out there but, none the less, she does need some work. She is laid in Oulton Broad at a boatyard where expert guidance is available to aid her repairs and who are happy for the new owner to continue with her storage arrangements etc. Electric, water and even flushing toilets on site! Freedom needs a bit of work though nothing major. Her hull is pretty sound as are the decks. The cabin sides varnish up well though a couple of areas now look like they need a proper look at forward. Her lifting roof was renewed about 10 years ago and has an epoxy finish as do the decks. The rigging is all OK though the mast itself needs a decent varnish job and a bit of tlc. The sails were serviced by Jeckells a few years ago but not used since. The raising roof needs some new fabric round it's edges, it's not leaking but has become stained. Engine wise it's a Stuart Turner. The engine was fully rebuilt by Martham Boats and has done maybe 40 hours since. It's a posh one with a dynastart so no hand cranking I'm afraid.... Freedom is a two berth and has hob, grille, sink etc plus a toilet compartment with Jabsco manual loo. In the cockpit are fuel and water tanks, gas locker and the battery compartment all under the seating. This is an easy restoration and and an excellent starter boat. She is a traditional Broads sailing boat registered accordingly with the RCC. Sadly we are never going to do her ourselves. Too many projects and a lack of time mean she will still be sitting there in another 12 months unless we find her someone who will do her justice. £995 as a starting figure.... PM me for my phone number to have a chat. Cheers 1
