Nice one Simon. Very enjoyable.

Lots of woodys about. Amongst others I noticed a couple of Constellations at Wroxham and about 10 of Richardson's biguns at Ranworth. Also their big forward drive Valentina towards the end.

The chaplain seemed quite proud of the fact that there had only been 20 drownings in the last five years.

Camping afloat, can't help feeling that it was all much more fun back then.

I am one of those in the business who has always believed that you should think of Broads boating as a camping holiday.

That way, you will realise it really doesn't make any difference if it hasn't got a microwave!

Also noteworthy was the number of boats moored at Hickling.

I saw Valentina - my father hired that in November 1965 just before he bought Water Rail.  Needless to say it didn't have any heating!

Yes indeed and Horsey busy also, even though the clothing being worn suggests it was filmed early or late season.

Definitely - I would suggest spring because there are no leaves on the trees and late season was still unusual?

Really interesting Simon. Thanks for putting it up. Looked like a school parties at Ranworth. All seemingly the same boat model. The Broads Chaplain was proclaiming how there had been just 20 deaths over the last five years. Sure that would be greeted with horror in today's climate.
