JennyMorgan
Brooms wouldn't be the only builder of dayboats on the Broads. If someone has a riverside property then a dayboat might make much more sense than a cruiser. I suspect that there is a market there. https://landamores.co.uk/project/mayfly-21/
oldgregg
I would guess they might be something like a Phoenix 21? Could be interesting punching the tide in one with a full load aboard unless they've got modern battery tech
NorfolkNog
I wondered about that. Electric boats on the tidal Yare? Even up to Bramerton the tide flows quite fast. Hired from Phoenix a couple of times - they are ideal for the upper Thurne - maybe technology has advanced quite a bit!

Bishy Barney Boats is into its third season now. All electric, all in use up to Surlingham and they would go much further if we hadn't restricted the area of travel for operational reasons. Unrestricted, they would happily overtake Herbert Wood's finest. Remember that a Tesler will outperform an AMG Mercedes..... Windermere Lake Cruises, where we bought all of the Bishy Boats from, replaced all the old boats with new electric ones built and fitted out by Silverline.
YnysMon
There was doom and gloom on this forum (and elsewhere) about the plans of the new owners of Brooms a couple of years back, with forecasts of the whole site being redeveloped not housing, which was very worrying for those of us with syndicate boats moored there. However, over the last year, or 18 months, I couldn’t help but notice how much effort has been put into the hire fleet and generally sprucing up the site altogether. The pump-out/refuelling station has been redeveloped and a lot of the buildings repainted. Okay, they are fairly cosmetic things, but do show a willingness to invest in the business.
