Boat stripes

Me and Sharron are having different views on our boat stripe.

I like the blue stripe as its retro which is very me.

Sharron likes our boat without the stripe.(like the one in NYA which has had it removed)

We are having the stripe repainting soon and sharron wants it removed or painted out

So can I please have your views on the matter ( Wayne and Jonathan )

Why don't you have the 'go faster' stripe painted on the opposite side to the engine that keeps conking out - may halp with the trim when we go to London!

Surely by the very fact that you are 'hanging your washing' on the outside of the boat would cause sufficient drag to prevent the engines from driving you along at speed??

Personaly don,t like the stripe ,and to repaint it ....i wouldn,t it,s not standard on a 36 turbo??? much more sutle is this??

ps you need more rag than above to wipe that off

Drag is a problem but removing the drive leg out of the water helps (the MPG is superb).

I must say that does look nice but how would i remove the stripe as it is painted on.

The first year or so production came with the blue or in three cases a red stripe from 85 on it was an option so they say.

If you change the colour of the stripe, your jacket will no longer match, so you will have to change that too...

And then your jacket wont match your eyes any more

As long as it,s paint ...and not gell coat ,you can mop it off with a mop and abrasive compound... i don,t know any trade names of materials to use but iam sure there are lot,s of folks on hear who can advise...

I think the stripe looks ok.

You need a bit of colour something that is mostly white, and a blue stripe sets it off nicely (But then i would say that)

Providing it is paint Barry, I am sure you can get a paint stripper that is safe on gel coat. I am sure nitromores do one.

Only problem I can see, it won't be Barry without the go faster stripe.

Suppose it depends which decade you like your music from. on the plus side stripes have been out for so long now that anyone still with them is in danger of starting the next big thing.

Baz, I've ordered your sun strip for the windscreen and the furry dice but I need to know if you'd like the sun streip to say 'BAZ n SHAZ' or 'BAZ n BOSS' ?

Since it is fact that "blue hulled" boats are generally much more expensive than the "dull" white hulled varieties your solution would be to paint the remainder of the hull blue.
