50 Litre Fridge

Recommended Posts

My fridge on board has been given it's death certificate.

It's dead, no more, deceased!

Before I sink a large wad of cash on a new one, thought it was worth an ask on here if anyone happens to have a good condition 50 litre 12/24v compressor fridge that they might want to sell?

The size would need to be (in new money) H 54cm, W 38cm, D50cm or near as.

A Waeco Crx-50 or equivalent  Dometic, Isotherm etc would be the sort of thing.

Cheers,

Jeff.

That's a pity, the sizes are wrong otherwise you could have had our present one for free.  It's a 12v compressor unit1961401546_BANBN951.thumb.jpg.bc9da782fef9eae4a11fabcbf3565aae.jpg in working order but with only one door tray that can be used.  It's a LEC Shoreline about H 79cm  W 50cm.  The face where the seal meets needs attention as in rubbing down with some new white paint.  We are about to bite the bullet with a new replacement next week

Thanks for the kind offer Griff:default_beerchug:

Sadly too large for Lady Emma.........No, that is not a euphemism :default_blush:

We have contacted JPC and are waiting for new stock of the Isotherm Cruise 49 to arrive.

Decided that a new fridge would be the best move.

So....toilet fixed, fridge soon to be replaced. Just got to work out what has happened to the 12volt supply to the fridge and give Lady Emma a proper spring clean!

These lec / Shoreline fridges are great and better value than Dometic and Isotherm. HOWEVER, they all suffer from the problem of Griff's one; they rust.

Assuming it's a new fridge with danfoss compressor, the energy saving add on cotroller is a good extra that changes it's behaviour depending on supplied volts running just below freezing when charging and using the colder food as an accumulator to run at a lower setting when the batteries are not being charged, costs about £150 extra but does appear to work.

Makes for an expensive fridge mind.

If you get no other takers Griff I'd be tempted in your offer as parts to make a custom chiller box, better than landfill but better if someone wants it as is.
