grendel
yes, here begins the extrapolation of what happened by the forum, based on no facts whatsoever, other than those printed by the EDP, which as we know can vary in accuracy depending upon how they wish to interpret for the best news value. sad to hear someone has had an accident on the broads at any time, even sadder if they have been injured. 7

catcouk
Probably caused by ANOTHER giant squid attack. Although how one of these vicious sea monsters got that far North is a mystery. You usually only hear of these sorts of attacks South of GY... In seriousness, I wish the injured party a speedy recovery and hope that the helicopter evac was more a precaution than a necessity. Paged at 16.41 to Ludham Bridge to a male in the water. Once on scene the casualty was out of the water but had been crushed between a boat and the river bank. The casualty was taken to hospital. Air Ambulance and Broads Beat also in attendance. #40/21 To Search To Rescue To Save

SwanR
Good to get safety reminders but I wonder how much of this always happened. Without social media we were blissfully unaware. Now everything gets reported and everyone has an opinion.
grendel
I seem to remember seeing an interview with the broads pastor who was talking about an average 5 deaths a year being a good safety record, back in the day, so yes, such news is invariably picked up on social media, making the occasional accident sound worse than it should, and maybe discouraging some visitors. Cheesey69
or maybe a reminder that the safety notices are not put there for a laugh. I say again, Water is not your friend, it's always trying to kill you. Treat like lava.
