Guest
The RNLI lifeboat crew at South Broads were called out late on Sunday evening to a gentleman on board a vessel on a remote mooring with suspected heart problems. The inshore lifeboat D-714 Jean Ryall was launched at 9:14pm to assist paramedics to gain access to the boat and tend to the casualty, and then once stabilised they moved the vessel to a safe location for transport to hospital. Once on scene the lifeboat transferred a crewmember onto the vessel to assess the gentleman’s condition whilst the lifeboat continued to St Olaves where a paramedic was collected and relayed back to the vessel. The cruiser was then taken under its own propulsion to St Olaves. Members of the Lowestoft Coastguard team were also standing by at the St Olaves Bell to assist the lifeboat crew by finding a mooring and securing the vessel on arrival, once moored alongside at St Olaves the lifeboat was released to head back to Oulton Broad. The Lifeboat was returned to station, refuelled and ready for further service by 12:25am and the volunteer crew headed home for much needed rest. Guest
Believe it or not he is already up and about! They were down at Oulton Broad yesterday and gave the Harbourmaster a bottle of bubbly for all at the Lifeboat station as a thank you!
