MY littleboat
May I respectfuly request that you stop using profane language on the forum Howard. Yes especially if you miss the 'party four' off the end!!! Well what an interesting post - I suppose my own first boat, like so many 'first' boats it really couldn't be beaten and for someone who was in their early 20s it was a big boat too - it was an early example of a moody 30, all 29 foot of it with a light blue hull - If I remember it was No 12 built approx 1976. (Total built I believe were 162) It was in a bit of a scruffy state when I took her on but was so easy to sail, unlike my next investment.. then I gave up sailing and started playing with aeroplanes... but that really is another story. Sadly too, it's the only boat I've made a really good profit out of when I've sold it! - Must try and find some good photos as I had pretty much a complete 'resto' record somewhere.... ...That was 24 years ago..... MY littleboat
The staple diet of a 6th former or Venture Scout in the early 80s!
wombat nee blownup
Ahhh! It would have been nice to have been a sixth former as recently as the eighties.
MY littleboat
Yes, it went like stink Rod and you could sail her single handed unbelievably!!! Stupidly I traded into a half share on a Warrior 40, which, although was a great boat was stupidly difficult to sail with a crew of less than 3!!! C.Ricko
Here's three of the things I miss most. Now, if only we could find the man responsible : Dan things always seem better in soft focus, where have all the boats gone??

Dan
things always seem better in soft focus, where have all the boats gone?? I guess that is one good thing, a lot of the boats have had nice/expensive updates and live on as a class from Stalham, and a lot of the others are on the Broads as private boats. Here's a picture of the one we hired. The old Westward Water/Miss Beryl 2. Dan
