Oldnew
I am struggling to find much recent information about Wroxham Broad Slipway. The last thing l read about it suggested it was in a bad state of repair and quite difficult to launch from. Does anyone have further information about it please? Bernard
I used this last week to launch my 14ft dinghy, there is about a 4" step at the end of the concrete slip which didn't cause me any problems, just take it very slow, the sides are a little rough. Be careful though as it was very slippery as soon as youn put a foot into the water.
Alpo
Hi. I looked at this slipway about three years ago and it is really only suitable for dinghies, paddleboards, and kayaks. It is very rough and steep and certainly not suitable for a 20 ft boat. If you wish to launch in the Wroxham area I suggest you use Landamore's boatyard in Wroxham. The car and trailer parking is open to access by the public so make sure everything is securely locked up. Further afield is Martham Boat Building and Development Company which has a really good slipway and is reasonably priced for both slipway and parking. Also consider the Wayford Bridge Boatyard which has a decent slipway and appears to be fairly secure for parking. Hope this helps. Bernard
The top of the slipway was redone a couple of years ago so no longer rough, just the small drop at the end now, sides could do with some attention though.
Alpo
I will be going past there as soon as the weather is a bit more settled so I will post a couple of pictures.
Tobster
Wroxham Broad slipway today. from what I could see it looks ok, possibly for small speed boat. Sorry couldn’t see the drop off at the end of the ramp.
Bernard
Here is the small step at the bottom, not too bad, just take it slow.
