Strangely Quiet On The Ant!

We came upstream through Ludham Bridge this morning and there were plenty of spaces on the mooring, same thing at How Hill!

A little downstream now of Irstead and most of the lovely little wild moorings that are always full of boats with anglers enjoying the river are also free.

We were heading for home but with just enough provisions left on board for one more night we have bagged a cracking little spot and will watch the world go by until the morning!

It's the kind of day that made us love The Broads in the first place... a much needed break finishing on a high note 👍

Strangely, having kept a boat at Broadsedge for 10 years, we often found Tuesdays busy. We put it down to folk having used the food and drink they brought with them and needing the "known" that is Tesco at Stalham.

Hope your new boat is living up to expectations!  😁

Every bit and more! We love her, it's a perfect fit for us and the handling is outstanding compared to our previous experience. It was a long time coming but at last we have "our" boat 👍

Bout damn time! The three boats in a year club is now no more lol. Seriously, really pleased for you all and hope to see you out and about so at least our hounds can meet to discuss their mad servants.

Really?  Three?  In a year?  I’d have given up by now!!  We came close to buying two before we settled on Norfolk Lady, an Alpha 32 centre cockpit that was once one of Swancraft‘s hire fleet and a Broom 30.  Both would have suited, but something niggled with both.

Anyway, enough of me, glad that you’re happy with your new acquisition.

Yep we found out we had got three boats in a year, probably the same year?  Embarrassing and expensive!  Membership was free to join the club as no funds were left 😂

Bet the brokers loved you!!  To be honest, ownership hasn’t been pain free.  We think the surveyor may have forgotten to remove his dark glasses at the time he did ours as one or two (or more) important issues weren’t picked up.  However, we’ve worked through them and hopefully any new spend will be on improvements rather than repairs.  Time will tell!! 😁

We’ve found it quiet so far this week. We were late away from Barns Brinkcraft on Saturday so elected to remain in the yard on Saturday night and then cruise down to Acle on Sunday morning, in readiness to crossing Breydon Water yesterday. Lots of moorings at Acle and we came over Breydon alone yesterday morning, having gotten to Yarmouth at bang on slack water.

We made Rockland Staithe at about noon and moorings remained available all day and evening. We’re currently at a half empty Norwich Yacht Station.

Where is everyone?

Pinged?

That must be a possibility if reports of how many there are can be believed!

Unless the stories about the Broads being too busy have put people off. I hope not.

That would be a shame, it's a great holiday especially for families.

All the boats are out, pinged or not. I would see the cancellations come back on sale, and indeed was expecting some, but they have been few and far between. Less so than in a normal week in fact. If people are getting pinged, it appears they are ignoring it! I can't fathom why you're not seeing the boats in certain places though. I'm wondering if more people have booked short breaks rather than full weeks (3 and 4 nights), and that has had an effect on where the boats are. You can't go far if you're doing Monday to Friday or Friday to Monday.
