Mop Head ?

We are in need of a replacement mop head, the current one kinda fell off, mind you it doesn't owe us owt as its been in use since the late noughties.

Situation is we can't seem to find a supplier of the traditional type, you would have thought that Nearest and Dearest would stock them but no longer do apparently.  Bro' has been searching all over the shop but can't seem to source one from anywhere.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks Mike, already looked at them, the strings are tooooo long and besides they won't fit our teak handle

Griff,try Nisbits.They are  catering suppliers ,but they supply to the public.They also have shops,there's one in Norwich.Just look on line and or see if there's a shop near you.I've checked they di have some like your photo.

Thanks, I've had look at Nisbits on line on line but can't see a mop head same as our that fastens through with the large copper pin

We used to get them from Coopers in Gt Yarmouth.  I believe they still have stores in Norfolk, at North Walsham or Kings Lynn, from memory.

If you put deck mop head into google it comes up with lots of different types, at reasonable prices too some of them

Hi I use a mop that you slide the bottom handle and twist it then squeezes out the water, works very well in mopping excess water/dew from cabin roof and deck. John

Griff I may be Barking up the Wrong Tree I think  councils supply those sort of Mop Heads  for the  Schools Caretaker use to Mopping up loos and Shower Rooms so they must have a  supplier for these study Mop Heads.

But I see from your picture that you may be specifically looking for something with a nice metal ferule, which is a bit more specialist.

The mop heads are advertised alongside a wooden handle, so presumably suitable for the heads. If the strands are too long, a pair of scissors should rectify. Seems well priced too. A call to Nick or Tanya might be a good idea. to check if suitable.

Hi Bikertov, the s/steel ferule is part of the mop handle not the actual mop head.  The mop head is a round affair held onto the handle by a simple large copper pin over a leather and or s/steel penny washer
