Electric Boat Toilet.

Recommended Posts

On Nipper we had a Tecma electric toilet with a single button to flush which worked fine. On Papaver we have a Dometic master flush electric toilet which has a two button three position control panel which requires you to push the buttons in various orders to flush.
What is the best electric toilet for a boat ideally with a single button control the Jabsco looks good but not having any dealings with these I would like peoples experience before deciding whether to change ours or not.

Hi If you discharge overboard it dosn't matter BUT if you have a holding tank a small flush for a wee and a larger flush for a poo will fill your tank up slower than if you use just one flush which will be for the larger amount to clean/clear the bowl, or a hand pump flush where you just pump the amount to clear the bowl. Ours is a Techma single button and it works fine, I have the control set to minimum water so that when its finished there is only just enough water to cover the outlet, this minimises what goes into the holding tank. However it does need a bigger flush for for a more 'substantial' visit, but my shower hose reaches the toilet, to add a bit more water before use, which does the trick.

There is normally just the two of us onboard and we tend to pump out our 80 gallon tank about once every 2 weeks
