Peters Joy Out And About This Week.

probably looks worse than it was. Took it very slowly just for that stretch then it cleared.

I would hope so

Even so in a bio-degradable that would have been a no no, even it it was wafer thin.  I would have lowered the mudweight to the water level and also had crew on deck manning deck mop and boat hook.

Better still following you out!

Heading back to the boat tomorrow afternoon.

The plan is a bit of shopping in Beccles friday morning, then cruise up to St Olaves for the evening, ready to cross Breydon Saturday morning.

Meet up with friends at Acle Bridge on two other boats for an evening there, then escorting one of them back across Breydon to Brundall if his engine holds out or towing him. He is leaving his boat at Peachments then for a new engine fitting. Breydon could be fun looking at the weather.. Photo's to follow of the trip again if anyone's interested.

I need to check the Tides, didn't think we needed to be so early.

Hope the river levels drop for you, Alan.  They don’t appear to have dropped much over the last few days.

After a horrible wet morning getting ready to leave the yard it cleared up for a nice cruise to St Olaves. Now moored on the free moorings, unfortunatly the electric post looks like it's tripped out from the high tides.

Somerleyton bridge is still out of order, With 7'6 close to high tide i could get under dropping everything down, glad it wasn't raining then.

So we left St Olaves at 06.30 just as light was showing. Passed Goodchilds at 07.25 then across Breydon passing the Yacht station at 08.15 just as i hoped, caught the tide change perfectly, only upset for me was a smooth crossing of Breydon, would have liked a rough one. :default_stinky:

Now at Acle bridge for the night then back across Breydon tomorrow heading for Brundall.

Photo's from today.

Safe travels on the rivers. It sounds windy out there and looks like being a wet morning too.

It was when we left Acle at 07.30. quite bad until we were just before Yarmouth, a good run across Breydon, now heading towards the sugar factory.

Thanks, Paul.

:default_eusa_dance: The weather here in Hawkinge is bright and sunny too (at the moment).  But not like being on a boat!  Have fun.  Regards Alan

After being stuck at Somerleyton Bridge for seven yours last year because of heat effecting opening the bridge I can understand all boaters concerns regarding this bridge, if its not fears of opening the bridge because of heat (easily fixed by sending a team to fit the summer rails, these are still on the bridge) then it is a mechanical problem.

Sadly maintenance or the cost of it is not adopted by most concerns.

Back in Beccles now so that's another trip over, going home tomorrow due to both of us suffering from a bad cold.

It's only february and already had 3 trips across Breydon and back this year, that must be more than i've done in one year yet.

Next time i'll be on my own for a full cleaning, servicing and maintenance visit ready for the rest of the season.

Paul.
