My boat has a sealand dump through type toilet and even though the seal is in good condition and the toilet bowl holds water we still get a nasty niff when the weather is hot (as last week)or when in choppy water (when the holding tank gets stirred up).I know thats its not the most pleasant subject buf has anyone any ideas.

Regular pump outs every 4 -5 days and chuck plenty of loo blue down in between.

We have tried many things but is a problem when you are right over the tank.We took a steamer and left it down the flap for several hours which we then had pumped out which left it sweet for a while and as said lots of Blue

Don't use any other toilet cleaners, they will destroy the blue and stop it from working.

What you could try is Aqua gem green ,it,s a porta potti toilet adative for daily use,it,s biological and lasts for about 4 days ,might coat the pipes and stop the smelly bacteria

Try shot dosing with Odorlos or BioMagic. Mate of mine swears by Odorlos.

I used to dose our Jabsco with extra Aquachem Blue every time we left the boat which seemed to work quite well. Provided there is a sufficient U bemd in the pipe from the holding tank, keeping a fresh amount of clean water in the bend also helps.

Thanks for the advice,will try cleaning the tank and buy a big bottle of loo blue.
