Timer for heater

Recommended Posts

Has anyone fitted a 7day timer to their Eberspacher heater?

Ours is fitted with the standard on/off/vent switch with the

rotary dial, but would like to fit a timer so that it will come

on and warm the boat before I have to get up and make a

cuppa for Jen and myself. Can be a bit nippy this time of

the year.....

What I want to know is it simply unplug the old one and plug

in the new or is it more complicated than that?

Some need a bit of wiring, some are a straight replacement, some have an adaptor loom and some are an addition to the temperature setting device, being just a simple timer. I will get my wiring out diagrams later today and have a look at the one in the picture and get back to you. What model of Ebo is it so I can match the colours up for you if need be.

OK, that timer / heat controler replaces the one you have, you will need to pop the six pin connector supplied with the timer to the existing loom, not a difficult job, I have assumed that you are using it with an airtronic. Here are a couple of PDFs to help you.

These are about £140 retail, you should get one for about £110, make sure the people you are buying it from know what they are talking about and have your heater serial # ready when you order it as there are 3 different models of that timer that all look the same. I would sort you one out but I only have Webasto & Mikuni dealerships so you will find one at a better price than I could do for you.

Have been quoted £113 inc drat from Parkinsons(Peterborough) who I used

to deal with when I was working(Now retired early), and they are Eber dealers.

We are down this coming weekend so will look for the serial no. I have the

original paperwork from the fitout but no-one marked down the no.!

According to the Eber website, it needs a 701.10.005 but no mention of serial no's.

Bill.

That's the one I would probably go for Bill, but I always like to err on the safe side, some things are serial dependant and it never hurts to quote it.
