porta-loo question

Having been looking at boats, I have a question about porta loos.

I know exactly what they are as I have one for camping....

The question is......................

Where do you empty them, are there specific waste sites (there are on campsites) or do you just "bucket and chucket"

most places with pump out facilities do porta potti aswell that or take it home!

never thought of boat yards

Not too kean on the take it home bit, i have to deal with enough s*&t at home already.

Did see a sea toilet boat dumping at the Yarmouth end of breydon once, nice coloured slick left behind.

Not all boatyards will provide facilities for portapotti emptying. This link from the "Greenbook" gives details of the yards.

Add to this Norich Yacht Station (free blue as well last time I used it), Not sure about Beccles, Great Yarmouth or Oulton Broad.

I`ve been looking at the brokerage wbsites lately too Geoffers, and i`m actually quite surprised at the number of Broads based boats that do have Porta potties fitted. I`ve seen several ex hire craft for sale which have had the pump out toilets removed and replaced with a porta pottie. Personally, i`d stick with a pumpout type, as it`s much easier, though possibly a little more expensive, to get rid of the contents.
