SEVERE FLOOD WARNING TONIGHT

Due to wind and tide conditions very much higher than normal flooding is already occuring around the Broads area. I have been told by the operator that REEDHAM FERRY IS NOW CLOSED FOR THIS EVENING as the approach area is already flooded. With up to two metres HIGHER than predicted, an immediate flood warning is in force. High tide is at 18.15 (Great Yarmouth) Please add the difference accordingly for your area.

Spoke to Crackerjack earlier and he was saying that Johnsons were attending the marina during the period leading up to high water.

Update.....tide got to 8 inches below top of flood defence wall at st Olaves..... phew!

hi everyone i saw on the webcam that the water had risen at barnes brinkcraft, they had started putting wooden planks round the mooring area, but they obviously were'nt quick enough, i took this pic on the webcam yesterday morning.[attachment=0]mine 008.JPG[/attachment] lori

I doubt if they were to stop any flood water Lozi, more likely to be in place to stop the boats floating over the quay heading.

The quay heading was in the process of being raised and straightened from before Christmas, a couple of weeks before the flooding.

This screen capture was taken on the 23rd Dec, when they had just started work.

Looks as though it was sorely needed, shame they didn't start a month or two earlier....
