Jim
AS some may know, we recently got our yard to fit a new hot tank with immersion etc. I noticed this week that when the water is hot, the hot taps operate without the water pump being switched on. This suggests that there is a build up of pressure from the calorifier which might be a problem and cause leaks in a couple of places. Our galley taps have a "push fit" fitting with rubber olives and when I tried to convert to a pressurised system years ago, water poured out of these fittings. There is no real sign of severe leaks so far and I'm wondering if the installation needs an accumulator vessel
MBA Marine
your building pressure as the water expands with heat, a accumulator tank will give you some room for expansion on your system, especialy if you dont put to much air pressure in its bladder. However i would be looking at the plumbing at your taps and changing that as it sounds like your having to run low pressures, no one likes having to press a switch for water, we like to just open a tap and out it flows.
