Bikertov
Quote We are contacting you as an Environment Agency boat registration or gold licence holder to invite you to have your say on our proposals on the future of boat registration charges from 2025. The consultation is now live. You can view the consultation documents and questions at https://consult.environment-agency.gov.uk/environment-and-business/charges-proposal-boat-reg/ Please submit your response online, as it provides an easy and efficient way to respond. It will also help us to gather all responses in one place, summarise responses quickly and accurately and reduce the cost of the consultation. However, if you are not able to review the consultation and respond online, you can do it by email or post. Please email enquiries@environment-agency.gov.uk using ‘Charges consultation: boat registration’ in the title or call us on 03708 506 506 (Monday – Friday 8am to 6pm). We will send you the consultation documents and a response form to complete. The consultation will run for 11 weeks and will close at midnight on 9 August 2024. Any responses we receive after this date will not be included in the analysis. Once the consultation has closed, we will review all your feedback before finalising our proposals and seeking approval from the Secretary of State for the Environment to implement the new charge scheme. We propose to implement the new charges from January 2025 for Thames and April 2025 for Anglian Waterways and the Medway Navigation. I received this by email today, and also similar by text. No doubt the BA will be watching closely

Smoggy
Consulting is not the same as actually taking any notice.
dom
I only cast an eye very briefly over it earlier - but it seems like EA are now using BA's toll increases as supporting evidence to justify another substantial increase. I've seen a proposed 10% EA increase in 2025 mentioned, but not sure how accurate that is.
