EDWARD MARK WAKELIN

WAKELIN EDWARD MARK (Mark) Sadly died at home in Wroxham on May 29th, 2024, aged 69. Former Chief Navigation Officer at the Broads Authority. Popular contributor to the lively folk music scene at Reedham. Dearly missed by wife Sue and family. Private cremation.

Very sorry  to hear that we have only just finished an extension at his house. He hadn’t been well for a while. Thanks for posting Mark.

Far too young.

I met him once back in the late nineties when the BA was in Colegate, seemed like a decent guy and from what I hear he was one who did not agree with Pacman's ways.

How very sad, far too young.

I met Mark on several occasions when he was Harbour Master at Burnham and I was Commodore of the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club. Whilst he had a commercial port to control,  with the timber wharf at Wallersea Island and the RSPB site taking all the excavation from the Crossrail project, he was still regarded as the yachtsman's friend. Always approachable, always a smile on his face.

A great loss to the boating world. Love to his family, RIP Mark.
