"Domain Renewal Group" Scam

Just in case anyone on here has an international domain registered in their name, (eg one without the .uk suffix), I thought it worth mentioning that I've just received another invoice scam from a company that calls itself "The Domain Registration Group".

It's a very convincing printed letter via normal post that arrives around the correct renewal time, (all of the info and the registrant's address are available openly on the Internet via "Whois").

One is invited to send a cheque or credit card details to " 56 Gloucester Road, Suite 526, London, SW7 4UB."

The scam has been going on for many years and has been reported on the web many times, and a photo of that address has even been shown on the web as small shop in London renting mailboxes.

Don't be taken in by it, domain name renewal is normally handled by the company that you rent webspace from.
