YnysMon
I’m a bit ‘on the fence’ about this question as several pubs around the Broads have changed management over the last couple of years, so you can’t necessarily rely on past experiences. Also, it depends whether you prefer standard pub food with large portions or something a bit more ‘cheffy’. The standout meal I’ve had recently was at The White Swan, Great Yarmouth, which is almost next door to the yacht station. They specialise in fish, but there are meat and vegetarian options on their menu. My son and I had dishes off their specials menu (divine) but I overheard couples on nearby tables who sounded like locals saying they had been recommended to try the sharing seafood platter. I also like the Neatishead and Thurne pubs. The Bridge Inn Acle can always be relied upon for good service and food, but their lunch and dinner menu is a bit too ‘same old’ for my liking. Very good standard if that’s what you are looking for. They also do a great breakfast.

Phil and Ness have been running the award winning Bridge Inn for some 17 years and you wont go wrong there. All 3 sell excellent beer too.
Gracie
Bridge Inn, Breakfast Bridge Inn, Lunch Bridge Inn, Dinner I love the Bridge Inn To die for Sunday Lunch, the Wayford Bridge Inn. I also like the Kings Head in Wroxham. Like comments above everyone likes different places for different reasons. I prefer, when on the Broads, is to spend time in the pubs on or close to the rivers Grace x

CeePee1952
We like the Lion at Thurne - good quality all round and because we always hire from HW twice a year, it's our first port of call on the first night and our last port of call on the night before returning to HW. We also like the Bridge Inn at Acle and the Wherry at Oulton Broad. The Wine Vaults at Beccles is also very good. There are other places that we visit depending on our itinerary for the week but the aforementioned stand out for us. We always cook our breakfast on board but on our return to HW we always use the Flour and Bean for breakfast! Can't beat a good old fashioned FCE and it sets us up for the return trip home. CambridgeCabby
On the northern rivers , good above average food and ales I have found this year White horse Neateshead Kings Arms Ludham (especially the carvery) White Horse Upton Maltsters Ranworth Swan Horning I found the Bridge Acle to be more “pub grub” than the others but the Bridge does what it does very well. I would also include The Sutton Staithe Inn but haven’t visited for a while . Similarly The Lion Thurne, by all reports excellent but has been a while since we have tried personally . If you don’t mind a walk (or drive) we have found The Catfield Crown excellent both in ales and with their albeit limited menu ,their fish and chips is very good. For cheap and cheerful , but no real ales just keg , the Broadside Chalet Park Stalham is excellent value
bucket
Having just returned from a week afloat; Maltsters, Ranworth, we had Sunday roasts. Decent food, excellent beer and service. Great to see the pub packed! Swan, Horning, food good, beer excellent, service not as good as usual. Best this week, (and not normally my first choice but was chosen by the mutinous crew because we haven't been in for ages?!) New Inn Horning, excellent food and beer, outstanding service. All in all we didn't have a bad meal all week but the 3 above were our favourites. 3

I also love the Surlingham Ferry House for the food, location and overall ambiance.
MargeandParge
I'll have to mention THE PIE at the White Horse Upton always made us welcome and offered us a decent beer. Kindest Regards Marge and Parge Gonna try The Maltsters after a long absence as I'm pretty sure the new custodians will have it right. NorfolkNog
Quite a few suggestions as I antacipated Not many down South apart from the White Heron though...
BoatsmanJetsom
My suggestions would be as below, North Rivers White Horse, Upton - great pub atmosphere and filling food The Recruiting Sargent - will keep you fed for the next 2 days! South Rivers Wood Fired Pizza, Beccles - Authentic Neapolitan pizza! The Lockes Inn, Geldeston - Good portions and a fantastic end point of the broads Waters Edge, Bramerton - Upscale food with prices to match but a very good meal The Angel Inn, Loddon - Fantastic sharing boards with meat, fish and veg options, amazing beer and my favourite pub on the broads.
YnysMon
Personally, I like The Wherry Inn at Geldeston.

Is that the pub that you take the right hand bend of the river instead of the left hand bend to go to the locks inn?
Boatingman
Yes that is correct Their a couple of 24 hour moorings on the right just before bridge

Not tried the grub but I agree, arguably the best beer on the Broads. Mrs Nog rates the gin menu highly too.

NeilB
The Swan in Stalham is very good with a good specials board, nothing fancy on the beer front but usually 2 or 3 real ales available. Not been for a couple of years but The Crown at Smallborough does very good home cooked pub classics. Bit further to walk than The Cross Keys but you’ll need the exercise to burn the calories off!!
CambridgeCabby
Heading south in a weeks time , will give feedback on the Southern offerings then
Bernard
If you don't mind a bit of a walk (about 45 minutes) head to Lessingham Star from Stalham, best food and beer in the area in my opinion.
