Smoggy
Well so far the weather has played fair enough to escape the broads and get down to woodbridge (yesterday), got to stay tonight as the angel was out of albion but are due a barrel today. Tomorrow we are booked in to burnham on crouch for a couple of nights and southwold booked for Friday and Saturday night, as the harbour master said "S28 your usual private pontoon" Nice one Peter! Last night walked back from town in t shirts with a few spots of rain and 2 minutes after getting back on the boat is p155ed it down, perfect timing and salt rinse done. Next week looks to be getting windy again so back on the southern broads it will be several hundred litres of diesel lighter. 5

Smoggy
Well a 6.30am start was too early for me but necessary to escape over the deben bar with enough water, plus side is deben is such a pretty river (anyone that says broads are prettiest should get a day out on the deben trip boat). from tide mill. Around waldringfield. Now in burnham on crouch, afternoon research mission has found dog friendly pubs and cafe for morning brekkie, beer is cheaper here. Burnham yacht harbour from bar balcony. It seems summer has also put in an appearance.
dom
33 minutes ago, Smoggy said: Around waldringfield. I have fond memories of that area. There's a trip boat called Jahan which runs from Waldringfield Boatyard, which was one of the first to include a lot of adaptation to allow disabled people to enjoy trips. Some of the fit out was done by a boatbuilder from Wroxham (mostly roof structure, which needed steaming), with just the tiniest bit of help from me and my dad. She was launched by a lesser member of the royal family - possibly Princess Michael of Kent. I was still in school at the time, but managed to blag the day off to go along.
Smoggy
Well after a couple of nice days in burnham we escaped and ventured up to southwold, sea was calmer than a very calm thing sprinkled in calm stuff but the humidity made visibility very poor, in fact we didn't see land for nearly 4 hours except for a glimmer of Sizewell nuclear power station, piccie below is gunfleet windfarm barely 0.5mile away zoom in and it does appear. Red lion booked for grub tonight, had a quick practice in the harbour Inn.
Smoggy
Bye bye Southwold. A fairly bouncy trip back via mutford and now in Beccles awaiting a Chinese, was going to try the swan at Gillingham as suggested in another thread but forgot its a Sunday so missed food, probably butchers arms tonight then.
Smoggy
Good deed for the day done, spotted a NBD boat moored 2 bends up from barney arms on the island very close to HW, no one about to shout to so called broads control and NBD. Not somewhere I'd want be stuck, no pubs!
