nollock
Hello all how easy is it to pour diesel from a jerrycan into the tank, any hints as i have a plastic 10l can with spout cheers
Smoggy
10 litre cans are OK but can splash back a bit, 20 litre can I find it's not the weight that's the issue but the the tensing holding it steady while it pours. I use 20l cans but have a 12v transfer pump with a length of stainless tube on the inlet with a scallop on the end, it will empty a can in about 45 seconds and with a bit of rag can go can to can very cleanly, I usually do 10 cans at a time. A big wide funnel is trick if pouring even with a spout on the can, the splashing is as air is sucked back into the can.

annv
Hi If you use a Army type jerry can they have a air release tube in the neck to stop splash back. Use with a funnel to suit your tank filler or use a spout adapter that clips on the neck of jerry can and insert it into the filler. John I have army type and all still surge once a spout is clipped on, most of mine are WD and arrow marked dating from late 40's to early 50's so definitely MOD cans. The jiggle syphons are good but slow. It's the tensed up bending over that kills me. (No smutty comments please )
Cheesey69
Lathams do a cheap siphon pump, I also use a battery operated one available online and euro car parts. Plus I use pig blankets for the odd spill
