Fire On The Chet

Please be aware, there are several boats on fire next to Pacific Cruisers on the Chet.  Fire service in attendance.

Fire now under control, no one hurt, Chet at Pacific Cruisers not navigable in either direction currently.

Very sad.

There are pictures on the Loddon Eye, it would seem three boats were destroyed and an adjoining boat which was formerly owned by a forumite has been moved away to prevent further spread - I suspect it will have damage from the heat, though.

I think you might be talking about my boat being moved here, we’ve only just moved Stardust to Walklin Boatyard a few months ago. Karen & Mark have been fantastic throughout our short time here and this is devastating for them. We’re heading up tomorrow to have a look at any damage that might have happened, we’re even more saddened for the other boat owners.

Lucky escape there for sure, hopefully she has avoided any serious damage.

She used to be owned by another member on here and was in a hire fleet for a fair while.

As No one is injured thank god I do hope these Boat owners will get Insurance to payout later on

Two of the three boats sunk on the Chet have been lifted out.  One remains on the bank opposite Pacific Cruisers. Navigate with caution.
