Really . . . . . . . . . . . . Already?

Thank goodness that we're spending Christmas away from all the tat and turkeys and crackers and christmas puddings etc etc etc.  21st Dec through to 5th Jan we'll be in the Caribbean and I'll be celebrating my birthday on the 25th at St Maarten on a luxury VIP snorkel cruise :default_biggrin: No christmas dinner prep, no washing up, no jostling in the supermarket and no Christmas TV repeats to endure!  Bah Humbug?  Well - maybe a little :default_coat:

If by Temple of Tat you mean that place near a very old and low bridge then I can confirm they have what look very much like boxes of lights. But folk use those for decorative purposes other than the C word. :default_xmas6:

You know you can go off some people :default_biggrin:

At least Jean and I won't get told off this year for mentioning Christmas too early. Oops, I mean the C word :default_xmas2:

I didn’t see anything festive in the Temple Of Tat last week.

It’s usually Roy’s that leads the way with a display of balls, baubles and other glittering tat.  They’ll have it out before the end of this month!

It’s twenty bloody weeks until 25th December, unless anyone’s brought it forward a couple of months without telling us and it’s just too early.  A lot of folk haven’t even had their summer holiday yet, for crying out loud!  No wonder some of us get utterly cheesed off with it all.

The supermarkets round our way had back to school stuff on the shelves before the schools had broken up!

Maybe they are bringing it forward whilst the weathers good? :default_coat:

If you look on the Barnes Brinkcraft webcam, a few boats down from the 3 boats moored side on, over on the opposite bank, there is a small boat with flashing decorative lights on the outside. They have been flashing for about 3 / 4 weeks.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!  Just don’t!

It's the twelfth of bloody August - the start of the grouse shooting season, not the start of Chr . . . . . . .Chri . . . . . . . . . . . . . Chr . . . . . . ..  There, I can’t even bring myself to write it.

It’s too early!

Just for the record, I think it's far too early to mention the C word, I get fed up with seeing cards, tins of sweets, gift wrap and gifts on the shelves this early. I don't like the constant C songs played in shops wherever you go starting in September

Once I hear Mistletoe and Wine, I can't get it out of my ruddy head and I hate it, I sing the rude version my dad taught me, it helps

Once the event gets here though and all the work is done, shops shut and lights twinkling, I ruddy love it

I won't mention it again until someone else does and maybe they will get a telling off instead of me :default_biggrin:
