Mooring Req’d

Hello everybody, new member here so first off thanks for allowing me to join and I hope everyone is well.

I am looking for a private mooring on the Norther broads preferably with electric that will take a 28’ Calypso. I have tried Wayford, Broadsedge and Richardson’s but nobody has anything available at present. Can anybody recommend anywhere else? Thank you.

Throughout my long boating years, I never found availability. Especially in my Poole Harbour days. That is until I arrived by car, smartly dressed and spoke one to one, suddenly " just one mooring had become available".

I remember wanting to leave Cobbs Quay (the combination of drying and the bridge opening was too much) and was told Ridge Wharf had a ten year waiting list. I turned up as above with my wife and two well behaved boys and there had just been a cancellation for a boat my size.

Owners of private small businesses like to see who they are getting.

It is also worth finding out when their year begins and ends. Some are January to December, many reflect the fiscal year April to March.

Abroad it is very often October to September.

Apparently, he might have a couple of extra moorings available nearby now, compared to last week

As already said, going in person may make a big difference to the availability you find.
