SwanR Posted August 13, 2024 Posted August 13, 2024 Guessing maybe they were travelling together? Very nice peaceful scene, it was certainly a hot one last night. 3 Quote
Hylander Posted August 13, 2024 Author Posted August 13, 2024 It was unbearable, no breeze. Sweltering, let us hope it is cooler tonight. I did chuckle about the advice to 'sleep downstairs', well not having an 'upstairs' we would be hard pressed to do otherwise. 3 Quote
Gracie Posted August 13, 2024 Posted August 13, 2024 Terrible for sleeping even with all windows open. I bet it's sweltering on boats at the moment. Beautiful scene you captured there Mon Grace x 1 Quote
grendel Posted August 13, 2024 Posted August 13, 2024 I have one of those chill air fans, but still slept on top of the bed covers last night, if I see another it will be going into the shopping trolley. It did help a bit. 1 Quote
Gracie Posted August 13, 2024 Posted August 13, 2024 You could always go for a swim but then you know that Grace x 5 Quote

At no point did he make a sudden dash to the waters edge… 8 Quote
grendel Posted August 13, 2024 Posted August 13, 2024 I might just get the paddle board out, and sit on it with my feet in the water moored up alongside at this rate. 2 Quote
CambridgeCabby Posted August 13, 2024 Posted August 13, 2024 Shall we have a sweepstake for how long before Grendel is in the water ?? by choice or chance ? 7 Quote
grendel Posted August 13, 2024 Posted August 13, 2024 About 30 seconds is my guess in this heat, whoops splash. 2 Quote
grendel Posted August 13, 2024 Posted August 13, 2024 Ok let's make that nearer 30 minutes, yes it was voluntary, to check the prop, no I did not need rescuing ( though a rescue squad did arrive, because they thought I was struggling, )the water was lovely, the only struggling I did, was with the paddle board trying to go everywhere other than were I wanted, I eventually tied it off and swam round to the ladder (just in front of the boat.) Shorts out to dry. 2 Quote

It did help a bit. I got one of those from Lidl few weeks ago, for £9.99. seems to be quite effective considering how basic it is inside - just a computer fan, water sump and paper-type filter cartridge to soak up the water that the air then blows over Quote
