Blue Green Algae

Recommended Posts

Thank you to Tom at the BA for his notice concerning blue green algae around Barton Broad (and to Mr Chairman for posting it) , can I remind any dog owners who may be on the Broads or visiting soon that it is fatal if ingested by dogs so please  take extra care of your pets and ensure they do not enter the water in any area which may be affected.

I’ve been looking out for it. Usual place I notice it first is South Walsham /Fleet dyke. But although it didn’t show itself a couple of weeks ago, I’m sure it would have been ‘lurking’ and building up in this hot weather, sill in suspension in the water. It is late though this year, was June last year down Fleet dyke.
