Aboattime Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 So this week there has been trouble at both Potter and Wroxham. A boat was stuck across Potter, and one stuck under Wroxham that had to be towed out. 1 Quote
Broads01 Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 Being stuck across Potter is quite common I think. The inexperienced don't realise it's not safe to turn close to the bridge. Clearer signage as per Reedham would be helpful. 1 Quote
grendel Posted August 25, 2024 Posted August 25, 2024 there is a big sign just before the pilots to turn before the sign, cant be much clearer 3 Quote

webntweb Posted August 25, 2024 Posted August 25, 2024 I presume the Bridge Pilots would be insured. 1 Quote

jeffbroadslover Posted August 25, 2024 Posted August 25, 2024 Hi Grendel, Have you not realised yet that a warning sign like that is similar to the ones you can see at the side of the road. You know the ones that a lot of people think " That does NOT apply to me because I think I know better" You might as well put up a sign saying "Please do not hit the bridge too hard" Jeff 2 3 Quote

It should also be red and not yellow as yellow implies a warning rather than "danger do not". 1 Quote
