BroadAmbition
With a separate box - I would hope not. Our onboard Beta has an oil n filter change every 250 x Hrs Now you have got me thinking how often I should change the gearbox oil in the Borg Warner. Tbh without trawling back into our ships logs I have no idea how many hours the present oil has done. Maybe I should know? Griff
MargeandParge
We are so lucky lucky our engine oil is fully sympathetic and our gearbox oil is Automatic transmission fluid so presumably takes care of its self automatically. Kindest Regards Marge and Parge The ships log reads differently
annv
Hi Andrew Follow the manufacturer's service intervals, gear oil often has a longer period between changes. Automatic gear oil! usually called TQF is completely different to mineral oils, but still needs changing as per manufacturer's recommendations. If not changed it will cause bands to slip and scrub out, requiring a strip down, Stitch in time saves nine. John
